Bridging the Leadership Gap: Women in Local Governments

This event presents findings from GWL Voices’ two-year Women in Politics research, highlighting how women local leaders translate global commitments into lived realities—despite persistent underrepresentation in mayoral and regional executive roles across Latin America. The discussion centers on structural barriers, parity frameworks, and why women’s local leadership is essential to democratic legitimacy and effective governance.

Power, Representation, and the Future of the UN

At a critical juncture for multilateralism, this high-level conversation draws on the Women in Multilateralism 2026report to make a clear, evidence-based case for women’s leadership as a structural prerequisite for an effective UN. With senior representatives from Member States and global leaders, the event explores concrete reforms—and the historic opportunity to finally advance a Madam Secretary-General.
Investing in Care for Equality and Prosperity

GWL Voices is pleased to highlight the participation of its member, Ms. Epsy Campbell, in the side event “Investing in Care for Equality and Prosperity,” convened by the Government of Mexico during the 70th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW70). Bringing together governments, UN entities, and civil society partners, the event will advance strategic dialogue on financing care systems as essential social infrastructure for gender equality and sustainable development, in line with the Seville Commitment of FfD IV. Ms. Campbell will contribute to Panel 2 on financing, partnerships, and commitments from the Seville Platform for Action, reinforcing GWL Voices’ commitment to positioning care as a human right and a cornerstone of inclusive, rights-based development financing.
